Pierce Pettis

Pierce Pettis, adored by both critics and public alike, is one of this generation's most masterful songwriters. His music is distinguished by his uncanny ability to capture universals in human experience by drawing on the humor and trials in daily life. Pettis' music can simultaneously pull on our hearts and keep us laughing. The beautiful harmonies, inventive yet subtle percussion, strong guitar, and Pierce's rich vocals are a constant throughout his body of work.

Before releasing his most recent albums (Making Light of It, Everything Matters, State of Grace and his most recent, Great Big World) on Compass Records, Pettis released three critically acclaimed albums on the prestigious Windham Hill/ High Street label. Pierce Pettis has performed in all 48 continental states as well as in Canada and Europe, appeared nine times on American Public Radio's Mountain Stage, been featured on National Public Radio's E-town, Morning Edition and World Cafe ... appeared on VH-1, CBS News, and the Nashville Network.

During his long career Pettis has been a writer at Muscle Shoals Sound Studios in Alabama, recorded for Fast Folk Musical Magazine in New York, won the prestigious New Folk competition for songwriting at the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas, and was a staff songwriter at Polygram and Universal Music Publishing in Nashville. He has received numerous songwriting awards including a 1999 Country Music Award from ASCAP for You Move Me --co-written with Gordon Kennedy and recorded by Garth Brooks on his album, Sevens.

Where is Leu Gardens...?
Official Buck (the Buck) Snelson Authorized Directions

In Orlando, exit Interstate 4 @ Princeton Street, Exit 85 (? Sorry, Wendy...), and go east toward the Science Center, crossing Orange Avenue, and continue about 3/4 a mile to the dead-end at Mills Avenue.

Turn right (south) on Mills & go about 1/3 mile to the light at Virginia (7-11 on corner).

Turn left (east) on Virginia & go about 9 blocks, following the curve to the left (north).

After the curve it becomes Forest Avenue. Go about 2 more blocks through the flashing light to the next light where Forest will make a sharp curve to the right.  Don't take the curve to the right.

The entrance to Leu Gardens is on your left. The address is 1920 Forest Avenue.

Turn in and follow the paved road where you will see the Garden House. The lovely folks at the front desk will point you in the right direction to see & hear the show.

OR...

From 17-92 in Downtown Orlando, just south of Winter Park, take Virginia Drive east about a mile.  It will turn left (north)--stay with it.

About 100 yards after it turns left it will turn right (east).  Don't turn with it. The entrance to Leu Gardens is that corner but to your left. Easy, huh?

Downtown Orlando is right over
<--- there in relation to the map.

right

I-4? About a mile west of here.

Here's a link to the official Leu Gardens Webpage.  It lists a $5.00 admission to the Gardens. You don't pay that.  You just pay your admission to the show.  Easy, huh?
